MAGI envisions a future where people – women, men, girls and boys, LGBTQ – will have access to life’s sources which they need to create a truly human life for themselves and others. The tillers will have their land, the fishers the sea, the workers just and human wages, the unemployed jobs, the (Lumad) IPs and the Bangsamoro (Moro) their ancestral lands and their right to self-determination, and all persons the means to adequately provide for their basic needs and lead a life worthy of their dignity.
This future is free from exploitation of any
form and its consequent deprivation and
impoverishment.
People will actively participate in decision-making processes affecting their lives, be they in the homes, schools, government, churches, organizations (and) movements, and virtual platforms/spaces . They will freely build organizations and communities which are self-nourishing, self-sustaining, self-governing, and self-reliant. They will justly exercise power to serve the interests of all, especially the poor and the marginalized. They will direct the course of history in accordance with their noblest ideals and be subjects of their destiny.
This future is free from any form of
oppression, manipulation, domination, and
violation of human rights.
People will live in unity and harmony even as they fully actualize their unique human potentials and freely live out their diverse religious-cultural traditions. Women (and), men, and LGBTQ will live as equals in dignity and in opportunities as they work hand in hand in building a better tomorrow. People will transcend all barriers, be they of race, class, gender, age, creed, ideology, territory, to build human relationships based on respect and solidarity.
This future is free from all forms of
subservience, discrimination and wars.
People will show care for one another and for the whole of creation. Nature is protected and nourished to ensure its capacity to sustain this generation and the generations to come.
This future is free from ecological destruction, disasters and violence.
MAGI’s vision is the full blossoming of integral development which is inextricably linked with the process of liberation and social transformation. People-centered and ecology-friendly, development is equitable, just, participatory, sustainable, gender fair, self-reliant, human and self-actualizing.
